Home oxygen therapy is provided upon the prescription of a physician. This prescription form is a secure method of prescribing oxygen. It is monitored Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30 hours to ensure same day service. Initial Screening

Ontario Home Oxygen & Health performs oximetric testing in the home to assess the individuals oxygenation status. Testing can be done at rest, with exercise, or during sleep. This type of testing can prevent needless trips to the laboratory.

Funding

Funding assistance is provided by various sources including the Assistive Devices Program, Department of Veteran Affairs and many insurance providers.

Funding for the Provincial Government program requires the individual meet certain physiological criteria, as follows:

• the condition must be stabilized

• maximal medical therapy undertaken (PaO2 must be 55 mmHg or less, or the oxygen saturation 88% or less as per arterial blood gases)

• those having a PaO2 of 55-60 mmHg will be approved if any of the following conditions are present:

pulmonary hypertension
persistent erythrocytosis
exercise limited by hypoxemia
nocturnal hypoxemia

Palliative Care

Funding Individuals in the terminal phase of their illness will be considered for funding assistance up to a maximum of three months (90 days) without documentation of hypoxemia. Following that term the individual must meet the predetermined criteria to qualify for Provincial funding.

What Happens When Assistance is Not Available?

Ontario Home Oxygen & Health offers competitive rates for those without financial assistance. Rates vary from provider to provider, and the individual is encouraged to compare. Our rates vary depending on the individuals needs.

We deliver Oxygen by a Concentrator, Liquid form, and "A" thru "E" cylinder with an Oxygen Conserving Device.
